FLY DAY

Finally its time to get the hell out of here. If all goes well we will be flying out of the country today. So we are waitiing in Freedom Hall which is the passenger terminal here at Fort Benning. Its actually a very nice facillity with recliners and eight projectors that project to a 100" screen. We will be leaving soon so I will post again as soon as I get to a location where I have internet access!

CRC at Camp Benning

Camp Benning located in Columbus Georgia is where I have called home for the last five days. It is not a bad place however we are located out in the boonies away from all of civilization prior to my travels to Afghanistan. The barracks here are average with two bunk beds and 4 wall lockers per room and everyone shares a large walk in shower. The weather here has been great and the food is pretty good as well. That's one thing I can say about the Army is they feed the troops pretty well here! So here is an idea of how the past five days were broken down. I arrived on Friday the 19th and got settled into my room. On Saturday we reported to start our in processing briefings and complete about two hours worth of paperwork. The days here go by slow as there is a lot of down time also known as hurry up and wait by the military. I will not go into detail about all the classes and such over the last few days but today is Thursday and we are done except for our out processing briefing which takes place this afternoon and tomorrow we FLY! I believe that is about it for now so I will probably not post for a few days until I get into Afghanistan and get settled in to my new home; so bye for now.
